4 Day Treasure Hunt 2015
Sooooo this Valentine’s Season I opted to do something different than the usual 14 Days of Valentine’s, that I have done in years past. This year I will be doing a 4-Day Valentines Treasure Hunt! This is a special Valentine’s Day! My husband and I will be celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary! (Along with some other good news) So I just had to change it up! Instead of candy, notes or cards, I have purchased (well in advance) some items I knew my hubby has been wanting. Now don’t judge me, the clues are very corny and I am, by no stretch of the imagination, a poet! >.< But here is a quick preview of what the hunt will look like and some of the clues he will be following! I will post the clue after each day, this way my hubs won’t see them before he receives them! Happy Valentines Day!
Day 1: NatureBox
My husband listens to a lot of podcast and thanks to Mr. Joe Rogan, we now have a subscription to NatureBox! He has mentioned getting this membership for awhile and I had to casually keep brushing it off -hehe. These snacks are so yummy and if that wasn't already a great reason to get a membership, they are also all natural & healthy!
Day 2: Roots of Fight Tee
So this gift is definitely unique to my husband, it is not a typical Valentine gift (that is the point this year, right?). He began seeing this brand pop up all over the place and mentioned it to me a time or two. He is a fan of Mike Tyson and already has a few of his shirts, but this one I managed to keep him from spotting. When he did finally see it, (a few days ago) I pretended not to be super impressed and quickly changed the subject ;)
Day 3: Warrior Bars
This gift I was most excited to give! He has been bugging me about getting these for a while now. These are all natural buffalo/bison jerky bars, packed with tons of protein and are pretty darn good! All of this is, again, is thanks to Mr. Joe Rogan. -haha
Day 4: Coconut Bars
This day was a little crazy; I had to attempt to make these coconut squares while my husband was still in the house! Trying to convince him that I was just making me something to eat, while trying to hiding all of the coconut products, was not easy. Either way, he liked them. I gave him these and a few other goodies I knew he needed, just didn’t have the time to take pix of everything. O_o
Here is the recipe I used:
2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
½ cup coconut oil, melted
2 tablespoons maple syrup
¼ teaspoon fine grain sea salt
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine coconut, coconut oil, maple syrup, and salt in pan on medium heat for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and add vanilla. Pour the mixture into a 9x5-inch loaf pan and pack it down. Refrigerate for an hour and cut into squares.
