S'mores Cake
It was my husbands birthday this past weekend and I got the chance to try out a totally new recipe; S'more Cake!

Ingredients:
Devil's Food chocolate cake
Crushed graham crackers
Small marshmallows
Chocolate Ganache
Toasted Marshmallow Filling & Topping:
Place parchment paper over cookie sheet and arrange marshmallows.
Broil on low until golden brown.

Note: it only takes a few seconds for marshmallows to toast, do not walk away from oven or they will burn.

Chocolate Ganache:
Use equal parts (by weight) of heavy whipping cream and milk chocolate chips.
Simmer on low heat until fully combined.
I poured the ganache into a squeeze bottle for convenience and storage.



Assembly:
Top the bottom layer with the chocolate ganache (add a bit extra and let ganache drip over the sides), sprinkle on graham cracker crumbs and place your pre-toasted marshmallows on top. Repeat for all layers.




Hindsight:
Next time I want to use dark chocolate chips for the ganache. It will give a greater contrast between the cake and ganache drip.

I will try a nonstick spray or silicone mat for the marshmallow filling/topping, it was quite sticky!
